1899 Inn - Deadwood

Our stay was marred by room confusion and a lack of local information. Despite the great location, the breakfast fell flat and felt unwelcoming overall.

delightful breakfast selection for all tastes with homemade bread and all homemade goods. marvellous location in the lovely area, so close to the historical cemetery and downtown area, south dakota deadwood and mt moriah cemetery.

The hotel is fabulous, has active staff and stunningly beautiful mountain views. The venue has awesome location within walking distance of the downtown area.

I had a great time walking just a few steps to Mind Blown Studio and soaking up the views at Mount Moriah Cemetery , as the charming decor made me feel right at home while I explored the area on foot.

The rooms were delightful and beautiful, had smoke detectors for safety. The location was marvellous, just a short walk away from Mount Moriah Cemetery. Besides, it was very close to the historical cemetery and downtown area, main attractions and downtown activities.

I loved the cozy Victorian-style charm, with its antique decor and warm ambiance. The stairs were a touch creaky but typical for an historic house, yet easy to navigate. Everything felt cute and accessible for seniors.

More heating in the room would be appreciated.

I loved the cozy vibe of the 1899 Inn. The antique decor created such a warm atmosphere. Walking distance to Deadwood's main attractions offered great convenience. Nyla's homemade breakfast was great, with delicious options like sourdough French toast. Tom's local insights about visiting Mt. Rushmore were invaluable. The upstairs heating wasn't quite sufficient. The cold nights made it a bit uncomfortable. The stairs creaked a lot, so we had to be careful not to disturb others. My reserved room had been given away, which forced us to switch rooms . That shouldn't happen especially when you plan ahead. It affected the overall strength of our stay slightly. Despite these hiccups, the hospitality from Nyla and Tom stood out. I'd recommend it as long as you double-check your room beforehand.

The host displayed amazing hospitality, accommodating a late check-in and upgrading our room with cozy furnishings and beautiful charm. The breakfast was disappointing with a lack of options and no consideration for dietary needs. The inn felt overpriced, with minimal local guidance provided and a room change that disrupted our experience. This combination of positives and negatives left us wishing for a better overall experience.

Nyla's hospitality stood out her breakfasts were genuinely good and the charm of the inn made for a pleasant environment.

Room assignment issues plagued my experience and information regarding local attractions was disappointingly scarce.

Make sure to explore the charming library room filled with historical features. It's a good spot to unwind and learn more about local history.

The Victorian decor added such a unique charm. Plus, Nyla's homemade breakfast-complete with fresh bread and jam-was to die for! Each bite was like a warm hug!

Had a lovely stay with delicious homemade breakfasts and charming antique decor. Just a heads up, the stairs were quite creaky! Would definitely return.
